GKiss.com hopes to be nectar to the lips of those looking for gay dating, love and relationships. It is primarily set up for gay men who are looking for a meaningful and loving relationship and includes key features necessary for creating a detailed profile and finding a like-minded man, including the capacity for free members, to send emails and flirtatious winks to other members. However, it suffers from a lower active membership base than the majority of its rivals.

Joining up is pretty painless, you simply fill in key information and can then return to your profile to improve on it later. What’s more, membership is free and this basic package includes a number of features that allow you to get involved with the online community, including being able to post on blogs or forum chats. You can also upload up to 27 photos, which is more generous than many dating sites, or wait until later if you'd prefer.

Unlike many other free memberships available on other dating sites, it's possible to send emails to other members and to flirt by sending 'winks'. The basic rule is that standard (free) members can only reply to messages, whereas to initiate contact with other members you'll need to upgrade to a Gold membership. This is quite common to many of the gay dating sites where membership is free, but potentially obsolete without the capacity to communicate freely with other members, which is something you'll have to pay for. That said, it's not the most expensive site out there. Whether it's worth paying for is entirely at your discretion. The best advice would be to have a look around the site, then compare it with, say, AdultFriendFinder.com and see where you'd rather spend your money. My guess is that a site such as AdultFriendFinder.com, with their larger membership base, would be a better option.

A number of improvements have been made on the site, particularly to free members. We were glad to see a wider range of features available, especially in those areas which allow you to communicate with others. Although you still can’t initiate communications you are now not completely restricted and can engage with the forums and blogs. As well as this, free members are able to comment on profiles and pictures, which may be a good way to get someone’s attention in the hope that they will send you a message.

It's fair to say that GKiss.com is reasonably bereft of active members. The site's motto is 'where gay friends and singles feel at home', whereas 'where gay friends and singles stay at home' might have been more appropriate. In terms of other features, there is a single chat room, and if you tune in at the right time you might just see a ball of tumbleweed as it breezes by. The chances of finding a date here are therefore slimmer (to put it mildly) than on many other gay dating sites. When we performed a basic search we did get several pages of results, however over half of the profiles were incomplete and without photos, which generally means that the members don’t really use the site as they couldn’t be bothered to finish their sign up.

Whilst this site is well constructed and offers its members a decent range of features, there are so many other sites that are more deserving of your attention and where you will certainly get a lot more interest, so it’s hard to recommend using this one. You'll note that the upgraded membership features are still lacking in comparison with our top 10 sites and whether you perform a basic or advanced search, the outcome will be pretty much the same. The site doesn't go out of its way to tell you exactly how big its membership base is, or how many people are online, although gold members can view when another member was last online. You'll also find Daily Gay News and gay blogs, which might keep you entertained but can be accessed for free anyway.

Whilst GKiss.com does have a few interesting features and looks pretty good, you wouldn't kiss a frog unless you knew it was going to turn into a prince. Sadly, all you'll be left with is a feeling of disappointment and a damp taste in your mouth. Take a look it you’re still interested, but sadly this site simply doesn’t offer the dating opportunities we’re sure you’re looking for.
