Editor's Verdict: Manjam.com is much more than simply a gay dating site. In addition to hooking up with other guys for fun, friendship or a serious relationship, you can also browse jobs, trades and business opportunities, find accommodation and search for travel companions. The site is administered by Hubjet.com and has a global reach, which means that you can contact literally thousands of members all over the world. However, it does lack some of the features found on other sites, such as OutPersonals.com. It's possible to browse the site and member profiles without signing up at all. However, you will only be able to access a few pages on the site before you are prompted to join. Registering for a standard membership is quick and painless. All you need to do is provide a few details and a valid email address in order to validate your membership. If you want to upgrade your membership this can be done at any time. The site is clearly set out and arranged in terms of three broad sections. Clicking on 'People' allows you to browse a number of profile categories, including members who are currently online, new members, popular members and members who are travelling and looking to meet people on the way. When you click on any one of these categories you can either browse the member thumbnails or perform a limited search in order to narrow down the options. For example, you can narrow by location, age, build and other criteria (see 'performing a search' above). The thumbnails are fairly detailed, comprising a photograph along with the member's location, build, role and what they're looking for in another member. With reference to meeting other members, when you search you begin with larger geographical areas such as 'Europe', Africa' or 'Middle East'. These can be broken down further by country, region and city to allow you to pinpoint members in a specific area. So, whether you are a jet-setter looking to meet guys on the other side of the planet, or just down the road, Manjam.com will find them for you. If you click on a thumbnail it'll take you to that member's profile. You'll find a concise list of values, characteristics and interests, as well as additional pictures and videos (you must subscribe to premium membership to view the more sexually explicit ones), plus what they're looking for in other guys. You can send text, voice and video messages, add them as a friend or as a favorite. One interesting feature to point out is that it's possible to advertise your travel plans and meet other guys en route, or to browse other members and hook up with them if your paths are likely to cross. Unless you have a premium membership there are limitations on your use of the site. For example, you are limited in the number of non-friend profiles you can view and the number of messages that you can send to non-friends. Also, your message history is only kept for 48 hours before being deleted (see the 'Features' list above for more details). This means that to really get the most out of networking you have to upgrade to premium membership, allowing you to access all areas of the site for a reasonable cost. If you join on the quarterly plan then this equates to a monthly cost of $14.32. If you sign up for a year the monthly cost is even lower, just $7.50. By clicking on 'business', you'll access businesses and trades in which you may be interested across the world. You're able to use a limited search facility to browse particular business sectors (e.g. arts & entertainment or health and beauty) and specific locations. You can also advertise your own business or trade here, although unless you're a premium member your advertisement will receive only a standard placement on the site, whereas premium members receive the more prominent premium positions. You can also browse jobs and other opportunities or advertise your own. By clicking on 'accommodation', you'll be taken to member listings of long-term lets, short-term lets and rent-free accommodation around the world. As with the other sections of the site, you can use the search facility to narrow down your options by searching with specific areas or by stipulating your maximum price per week. You can advertise your own accommodation too. All of the above sections are coherent and easily navigable. If you experience any technical problems with billing or your account you just need to complete the support form on the site and an administrator will reply promptly. You should allow 24 hours for somebody to get back to you. In summary, whilst Manjam.com doesn't quite make it to the top of the list, you'll find thousands of members waiting to meet you from all corners of the world.
