RealJock.com is a gay fitness, health and lifestyle site with a friendship and dating component. This means that, unlike most other sites, the dating aspect sometimes feels secondary. If you're a serious jock and enjoy this particular kind of lifestyle then you'll meet loads of likeminded guys online at the same time as learning from the many articles online. If you're a couch potato (and proud of it) then perhaps this isn't the place for you.

The best news about the site is that it's completely free. It takes just a couple of minutes to regiser your details, choose a username and password. Don't forget that you'll also need a valid email address in order to validate your membership. What follows on most other sites is that you're informed that if you actually want to hook up then you'll have to upgrade your subscription. The great thing about RealJock.com is that you don't need to pay anything further in order to get the most from the site. You can send and receive messages, search and browse profiles and use all the other features too. The only limitation is that to use some of the features (e.g. RealJock chat) you'll need to verify your membership. Again, this is free and fairly simple and the instructions are provided on the site. Once your profile is authenticated there's no stopping you. In addition, other members are more likely to take you seriously if you do verify your membership.

Of course, this is something of a niche gay dating site. However, don't expect to find nothing but buff narcissists of mountainous stature. Many members look like the average Joe, so don't be too intimidated. That said, you'll find that most are united by their interest in healthy lifestyles. There is also the concern that, being a free site, you'll get more than the usual share of fakes and time-wasters. Whilst they won't all be online at the same time, over 7000 profiles on the site are verified. You can filter your search results by including only verified profiles, so if you do share this concern, features on the site such as this ensure that you can filter out suspicious profiles and save time and disappointment. For a free site, the profiles compare favorably. In addition to giving plenty of detail about the member, it's possible to upload multiple pictures and videos too. In addition to the main public photo, you'll find additional public pictures (some of which may feature nudity but no sexual acts). You can also find more sexually explicit pictures on member profiles, but these are not public, and have to be unlocked by that member. So, whilst you can find sexually explicit images, you have to go looking for them, meaning that it's not 'in your face' if you're uncomfortable with that kind of material.

In terms of other features, there are getting on for a hundred articles on health, wellbeing and fitness listed under the 'topics' tab. In addition, you can also find lots of workout plans and health and wellbeing advice. It really is a mine of information and advice for those wishing to get or stay fit. Moreover, this information and advice won't cost you anything. In the member forums you'll also find a lot of topics on health and fitness. Even if you're not a complete jock, you should still be able to get something out of the forums, which cover other diverse topic areas, including dating, gay issues and movies and TV. Meanwhile, if you're keen on chatting live with other members, there are two kinds of chat room available. If you want to enter the original RealJock.com chat rooms you'll have to be a verified member. No sex or nudity is allowed here. If that's what you're looking for then you'll need to login to the RealJock.com adult chat rooms. Whilst both chat room types are fairly buzzing, a lot of the time you'll find that the adult chat rooms aren't especially wild or raunchy. You can also use IM to chat with members, and if you hit it off in the chat rooms don't be surprised to be invited to IM in private.
