I've been a member for a year and a half of good ole' Compatible Partners. When I first joined in May of 2013 I was looking forward to finally being able to talk with guys who really want to settle down and finally meet the one guy that would be my real connection. At first, it started off very well--I met a great guy, but he lived in CA, while I was back in PA. We talked everyday, hit it off completely. However, I did some research on him...things started to not add up. Who he said he was, versus who he was, resume wise, etc. His age was a lie...his credentials matched up, but you can't be 36 and have graduated college in 83'. I finally confronted him, and our communication ended. I hung in there, because, "good guys" are to be on this site. The next guy, well, another "catfish". We chatted, talked on the phone every night, every weekend for hours, traded texts and pictures...seemed like the perfect guy. We agreed to meet in DC. I drove down there...and about a half hour outside...I get a phone call from him- family emergency, I can't meet him. Having such a thing occur in my life, I totally understand. I was suspicious and it grew. We decided he could fly from Nashville to visit me in PA...I drove to the airport to pick him up. Total no show. I called him...his work schedule changed his plans. It got so ridiculous that he was going to send me plane tickets in my email (I knew better)...and each time, no show. Always an excuse. I would have liked to confront him to his face...but oh well. I ignored the next 87 voicemails and texts. The emotional roller coaster was not worth it. I was done.
I have lost all faith in this dating site who is to "vet" them out...I mean, we are PAYING money. I just quit finally- it is a scam. I lost $700 to a total scam...and well, it was a complete waste. Dating sites that you pay for that are not cheap. We should have an automatic verification of ALL members and who they are along with photos. You should also get some sort of refund for the shittiest matches ever. I could have done better trying to pick up someone in person in a bar. This is the biggest scam ever...do yourself a favor and use a free site...because- guess what? There is nothing to lose there. Also the matches on there are real people.
In summary, I would not recommend Compatible Partners to a friend.
